Recently I participated in a book project with several other speakers entitled Life Compass for Women. While writing my portion of the book entitled “Living the Creative Life”, I learned a few things. The process made me examine my own life situation, priorities and purpose. In this newsletter I’d like to share with you,
What I Learned Along The Way:
· If you are going to tell other people what to do in their life it’s best to know what you are doing yourself.
· Sometimes what seems like a roadblock in life is really a rest stop. Maybe you are not ready for the next step and need to be in what I call ‘incubation’. It would do us well to learn to sit still instead of always moving. Just because you are moving doesn’t mean it’s in the right direction.
· Having clear convictions and purpose can make your life choices easier, but it can also make the journey harder if you truly live by those convictions. There will be tough decisions and lessons to be learned. I guarantee if you fail to learn a life lesson the first time, you will experience it over and over until you get it. (Trust me, I’m stubborn and often learn my lessons the hard way.)
· There is a turning point in every situation or conflict that requires us to make a choice. Sometimes it is; will I take responsibility or will I hide, will I fold under pressure or stand my ground, will I be hurtful or will I hold my tongue, will I make a big deal out of an issue or let it slide. The choices are endless and the consequences are yours alone.
